1.  Major  

(1)Master degree of Mathematics 

Hebei University began enrolling undergraduates in mathematics in 1951; enrolling postgraduates in 1978; obtaining the right to grant a master's degree in Basic Mathematics in 1984; and in 2010, the right to grant a master's degree in Mathematics as a first-level subject. Since the resumption of the college entrance examination, more than 4,000 undergraduates and more than 800 graduate students have been graduated. There are currently 45 teachers in this subject, including 25 professors, 6 doctoral supervisors, 38 teachers with doctoral degrees, and 26 teachers with overseas study experience (11 of which are one year or more); 5 of them hold positions in the Mathematical Reviews, commentator of German Mathematical Digest.

Main courses: Functional analysis, Basic Algebra, Modern Theory of Ordinary Differential Equations, Modern Theory of Partial Differential Equations, Dynamic Systems, Optimal Control Theory, Generalized Measure Theory, etc.

(2)Bachelor Degree of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics  

Mathematics and Applied Mathematics was established in 1951 and is one of the earliest undergraduate majors offered by Hebei University. There are master's degree programs in mathematics, among which basic mathematics was granted the right to grant master's degree as early as 1984. After decades of construction, the conditions for running this major have become increasingly perfect, and the quality of teaching has steadily improved. There are 42 full-time teachers in this major, including 17 professors, 16 associate professors, 5 doctoral supervisors, 33 teachers with doctoral degrees, 19 teachers with overseas study experience, one famous teaching teacher in Hebei Province, and a member of the committee of the Ministry of Education.

Main courses: Mathematical Analysis, Advanced Algebra, Analytic Geometry, Ordinary Differential Equations, Probability Theory, Mathematical Statistics, Functions with one Real Variable, Functional Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Operations Research, Topology, etc.

1>. The applicants must be non-Chinese citizens [The applicant must possess a valid passport or citizenship-proof documents (citizenship longer than 4 years), and should have a record of more than 2-year residence in any country other than China in the past 4 years (as of Apr. 30th in admitted year)]

2>. Applicants must observe Chinese laws, regulations and school disciplines, respect the Chinese customs and habits with good personalities.

4>. Applicants to pursue undergraduate program should have high school diploma and good grades.

Applicants to pursue master’s program should have bachelor degree or above and good grades.

Applicants to pursue Ph.D. program should have master’s degree or above and good grades.

Chinese teaching program: Chinese language proficiency HSK4 score 180 or above

English teaching program: English as mother tongue or official language, or English proficiency test IELTS score 6.0 or above /TOEFL score 85 or above for non-native English speakers.

Chinese & English teaching program: meet either Chinese teaching program or English teaching program requirement.
